    The most famous painting is in Chicago, with Grant Wood&#x27;s <i>American Gothic</i> and Edward Hopper&#x27;s <i>Nighthawks</i>.<p>I have seen it several times.

      <i>Un dimanche après-midi à l&#x27;Île de la Grande Jatte</i> is an impressive work. Seeing it in a book or online doesn&#x27;t do it justice.

        Particularly because, although there are smaller &quot;study&quot; versions as he worked up to it, the painting itself is <i>10 feet wide</i> and most references don&#x27;t include that context (at least not visually, they often list the numbers.)
