The same things which always have been the matter is the problem. It hasn't improved because the ABI models inside the major mail clients aren't designed to make it work and they are in constant upgrade-warfare to maintain spec. I had viable PGP for years in OSX Mail.app and then.. it just stopped. There is zero income in "pay another $4 for this upgrade" because eventually we all go back to using emacs or some wierd-ass shell client for the unavoidable burdens.<p>I do think the failure of keystores to keep up kind of also doesn't help, and the key party dynamic has vanished. Nobody seems to organize them any more. Maybe we all are dinosoars, and we all did die out. No meteor needed.
